IDO's objective is to provide network administration services for a network of users that needs to coordinate the design, development, implementation, and operation of automated systems including the conversion of existing systems. IDO manages the information technology systems and desktop services department including network operations, telecommunications, technicians, and coordinated the management of all vendor relations. In conjunction with the management team, we define the technology direction and the role of information technology systems and services. We also collaborate with the management team to establish goals and set priorities for technology solutions. Overall the responsibility for risk management, information security, and regulatory compliance are used as they relate to the information technology. We direct the day-to-day operations, including acquisition, installation, maintenance of hardware and software as well.

The deployment program has a couple of stages. One, all files are shipped as packages (compressed into a zip files), then the client uses an installation program to transfer files to their system based on the shipped package. Once the package is installed, if any files are in use and cannot be installed, then a service program is used to continue to complete the installation during off net hours. It is responsible for maintaining connectivity of existing systems and creating new components. This software is written in Delphi 5.0-8.0, Java Enterprising techniques, Pervasive (Btrieve), and PERL. Many of the users require some level of administrative privilege, so we designed remote software that would take advantage of these network areas. At the same time, the program is protecting more sensitive parts of the network. In addition to our administrative duties, we are responsible for design and implementation of the corporate intranet.
