Dial Up Set Up for MAC OS 10.3 &10.4

  1. Click on the Apple menu on the top-left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.






















     
  2. Click on the Network icon located on the Internet and Network section.

  3. After the Network Preferences window opens, click the pop-up menu next to Show: and select Network Ports Configurations. Then make sure that Internal Modem is checked.

     
  4. Click the pop-up menu next to Show: and select Internal Modem.

  5. Click on the PPP button.

  6. In the Service Provider: box, type a description for the connection. This is optional.

  7. In the Account Name: box, type your IDO user id.

  8. In the Password: box, you have an option to either type in your IDO password or leave it blank. If you type in your IDO password then it will be saved on the computer and you won't have to type it in again. If you leave it blank then you will have to type in your IDO password on each dialup session.

  9. In the Telephone Number: box, type your local dial up number.

     
  10. Click on the PPP Options... button.

  11. Un-check the box next to Prompt every ?? minutes to maintain connection.

  12. Un-check the box next to Disconnect if idle for ?? minutes.

  13. If the window looks similar to the example below, click on the OK button.

     
  14. Click on the TCP/IP button.

  15. Click on the pop-up menu next Configure IPv4: and select Using PPP.

  16. In the DNS Servers: box, type see domains below to add

  17. In the Search Domains: box, type ido.net



























     

    The dial-up DNS servers can be left at server assigned. If your customer has a router or a Mac OS computer than they may be required to enter them in. Listed below is the DNS server IP's for each network:

  18. Click on the Modem button.

  19. Make sure that you have the correct modem selected in the Modem: pop-up menu. Your window should look similar to the example below.

  20. Click on Apply Now and close the window.

     

How to Get Connected

  1. Click on the Desktop.

  2. Click on the Go menu at the top and select Applications.

     
  3. Double-click the Internet Connect icon.

     

  4. Click on Internal Modem from the tool bar at the top of the window.

  5. Click the Connect button.

     
  6. Your computer will attempt to make an Internet connection. The Connect button will change to Disconnect when a connection has been successfully created.
