 Trouble Shooting

Q1) When dialing the computer returns the message "The line is busy, try again later".
A1) There should be absolutely no time that you receive this message. We have more modems then people as a standard practice.

  1. Go to the Apple Menu, Control Panels, and open up the Remote Access (or PPP) control panel.
  2. Click on the Options... button at the bottom of the window.
  3. Select the Redialing tab.
  4. Set the Redial option to "Redial main number only".
  5. Set it to redial 20 times (or whatever number you choose).
  6. Click to OK button and try to Connect again.

Q2) When dialing the computer says "There is no dial tone".
A2) This message means exactly what is says - it can't detect a dial tone on the phone line. Check your phone line and make sure it is connected properly. The line should be connected into the wall phone jack at one end and into the phone plug on the back of the computer labeled Line, Wall, or Telco. Or just try one and if it doesn't work try the other, if you still have no success try replacing the phone cord and/or modem.

Q3) The computer dials and connects but then says "Authorization failed".
A3) This is most likely the result of a bad username and password, try typing in your username and password again and see if it makes a difference. If not then try connecting to our PPP Test Account, which uses the following name and password:

username: username@idomail.net
password:
xxxxxxx
