We have designed a special packet for our new customers that provide a lot of information about us. Customer care comes first in our small company and we want feedback about how we are doing for you. You can tell us @ www.idomail.net and check the contact page.

What can you expect with each month of service? Every month between the 25th and 10th, you will receive a Newsletter. In the newsletter you will find interesting things happening in IDO and tricks and tips to keep your computer happy and healthy. We do not prorate and you are always paid in full starting with your very first payment. IDO is set up like a calling card....You can not use half of your minutes and take your card back to the store to which you bought it and receive a refund. So, be very thoughtful before you purchase multiple months.

We are much different in aspects to other ISP’s. The day you sign up with IDO is the due date of your payment every month. We do not prorate and you are always paid in full starting with your very first payment.

Simple issues to keep in mind. We have more modems then people and we give you full port (bandwidth speeds. You will go as fast as your computer modem and telephone lines will allow. What this means is that you do not get busy signals and we do not kick you offline. Ever. Unless you are online all the time and a loved one or family member is trying to reach you…that is.

Here are few tips if you see any of the following errors.

“Unable To Establish A Connection” .  Your modem is simply not working correctly. It’s a sure sign that your modem cannot connect to your computer and therefore cannot get to out to your telephone line to call the local dial up number.

·          Try restarting your system. Many times, by restarting your system the settings in your modem will also reset themselves and all will be well.

·       If you already restarted and you are getting that error…chances are your modem died on you. Replacement is in order. PC modems run under $20. Laptop modems are generally under $100. We can order the parts and install them in most cases for you.

“No Dial Tone”.

  • Check to make sure you do not have any voice mail messages on your phone.

  • Try plugging your telephone cord into the other slot on your modem.

  • Try plugging a phone into the phone jack and call the number.

  • If there is no dial tone, call your phone company.

“Invalid Username or Password”. Simple enough if you have made sure that your username says for example jonc@idomail.net and your caps lock is off and you already retried typing your password, call us right away.

“The phone number you are dialing is not answering, or is busy etc…”

·          503 area code users are the only ones that should put in the area code. Making sure that it is not dialing a one in front of it. Uncheck the dialing rules box just to be safe, if you are in the 541 area code.

·          Check your package for the “Travelers Perks” brochure and locate your local number. Check it against what you have in your computer settings.

**Static will always knock you off the internet** The Accelerator will sometimes take the blows of static to keep you connected, but will in some cases fail.  Simple solution is to run down to Radio Shack and pick up a phone filter…better yet make your phone company come out and fix the static. If they will not do that or tell you that there is no static on the line, which you know is not accurate. Call the Oregon Public Utility Company @ (503) 378-6611. They will assign a caseworker on your behalf and make your telephone company fix the problem pronto!

“Disconnects after 20 minutes” – Open Internet Explorer, click on tools, internet options, connection, settings, advanced – Uncheck the box that says “if idle more than 20 minutes disconnect”. Click Ok and close until you reached your desktop.  Double click the Big Blue E or Internet Explorer and dial up again.

“Disconnects after a few seconds, minutes” – Modem either is going bad or is being hit by static.  Solution: New Modem or Phone Filter or call to your Phone Company or OPUC.

“Redirects your home page to some unknown web site”: You’ve been hijacked by spyware. It will get worse to the point that you will stay connected to the internet, but can’t surf anymore.  You need to have it removed by a Professional.

“Disconnects after you received or sent mail in Outlook Express” – Open Outlook Express and click tools, options, connection. Uncheck the “Hang up after sending/receiving”.

“Attachments were removed by OE”: Open Outlook Express, click Tools, Options, Security and uncheck “Remove incoming attachments.

“Accelerator will not stay on” visit www.ido.net click on Support Site Map and select Smart Accelerator link.

Please, call us if you are having any issues at all. Generally, we can tell you how to quickly fix it right over the phone. If it a more complicated issue, it may result in training and or computer repair. For that you will need to bring your system to us. In the case that you are not within normal driving distance, let us help you find a reasonable computer repair shop in your area for you.

So, are we all bores here? Absolutely not! We love to laugh and be silly. So, contribute to our monthly funny contest!
