IDO provides four distinct
ways of connecting our
customers. IDO is always
available to assist you with
the best method of access
for your individual needs.
We are network designers and
have knowledge of what
provider/vendor is going to
be the best fit.
Here are some things that
you should know.
|
|
Dial up: This is for
people that just want to
send out emails and surf the
web on the short term daily
basis. No heavy usage. Just
a simple connection. It's
easy on the pocket book and
doesn't require anything
special. Requires active
phone or data line. |
|
|
Accelerated Dial Up:
Helps email and web site
surfing go faster. It does
gives controls over the
graphic settings on web
sites too! Still not good
for media, games, downloads, encrypted
sites such as online
banking). Requires a
software download.
Compatible with Windows and
MAC. Linux already has a
built in acceleration
technology. Requires working
dial up connection. |
|
|
DSL: Fast surfing,
pretty quick downloads,
ready for music. bandwidth
drops...but there is a free
broadband accelerator that
keeps your surfing at top
speed. IDO does not
currently provide DSL
Services. However, we do
facilitate the set up for
DSL services for our
customers. |
|
|
Cable:
Cable is great for both home
and businesses alike. It
gives you instant access to
everything the web has to
offer. Combined with the
right security measures,
cable is safe and
continuous. |
|
|
Wireless:
Wireless technology is great
and has alot of different
varieties to choose from.
Encrypted Wireless for
multiple mobile and desktops
in your home can work with
both cable, cell phones, dsl
or stand alones. IDO offers
all Wireless services with
the exception of cell
phones. We do configure cell
phones for wireless access
though. |
|
|
Cell Phone
Internet: Still
Wireless with the
exception that your
cell phone turns
into your wireless
router. So, if you
have cell coverage,
you have internet
access on your
computer.
